“If a man seek fame, let him be a man alone in the forest with insects, that he slay an insect, and he shall be made famous among them, for the last day of his life.” – Daro, The Mashr’agun
Humans are the most adaptable, ingenious, and hardy creatures on the planet. They change quickly, can change their environment to suit their needs, and can create new weapons and methods of keeping out the environment. This ability has allowed human beings to survive in one of the most inhospitable regions of the world of Aesca: the Nazro continent.
Possessed of a massive toxic count, the continent is blanketed in thick, heavy clouds of oxygen made deadly, insect spirits and reptile spirits of prodigious size and power, and a forest of toxic fungi to the south with a torturous wasteland to the north. Ancient ruins rest buried under thick sand if they're not burning in the sun. It was not always so; stories in the Book of Extinction say that in the previous age, the land was pure and the people technologically advanced. This is a continent where something terrible has happened, somthing from which the land has yet to heal, and so the people suffer under its flaying winds and poison clouds.
Those that don't pack up shop and leave the instant they get the chance, anyway.
One of those really good places to hide, simply because nobody wants to go there.
