Ryoko Concepts

Very silly, quick sketches to help retain some stuff I dreamed about. I used to have this concept about a girl infected by a meteorite and given crazy biological superpowers. Last night I had a dream about it, but it was a whole region, like a city and its environs, a couple small towns, some wilderness, that sort of thing, and the government created a task force to contain it (and it's not spreading for some mysterious reason), but stuff kept mutating and trying to escape while an alien ecosystem slowly rose from the infected zone.

Ryoko was a pretty normal person before the infection: her parents ran a laundromat and she had a couple friends. Now she's faceless with a grotesquely mutated right arm studded with thick bones on the knuckles and has a nest of poisonous spike-tipped tentacles for hair (with venom that calcifies cell walls!). Her face opens up sideways into a hideous unfolding hagfish mouth. Because she can slip back into "normal mode," she can mix with the rest of the population inside the infected zone and scout for trouble.

One of her friends has become a monstrous brain encased in a skull shell with degenerate arms and legs, unable to move about much on her own, while the other has become literally a giant womb (with legs mutated into hands!) capable of producing all manner of creatures with the alien DNA bank now inside her body. Together they serve as something like Ryo's own Agent Q, creating little life forms to act like spy gadgets, biological rocket packs, things like that (in the dream they cooked up this arrow-shaped thing with unfolding wings and methane ramjets so she could fight a Monster of the Week that flew).

They fight crime. Alien disease crime. And the CDC tries to figure out who the mysterious "Hunter" is.
